Local singer-songwriter and producer EMOTIONA (Brian Lenington) served as direct support for Trivecta at The Vogue on February 18. As soon as Brian heard Trivecta was coming to his hometown, he knew he had to try and get on the lineup. "I saw he was coming and knew I should be the person to play. I knew I needed to try as hard as I could and do whatever I could to make it happen."
It took Brian 4 tries before he had luck. First, he submitted his epk by email to the event promoter. Second, he asked a few personal connections. Third, he emailed Trivecta's manager and booking agent. After no responses from those attempts, he created a linked-in account, found the talent buyers The Vogue, and made a promotional video of his original email. They were impressed with his video and effort, and he got booked!
"Forever a student of wonder and feeling, singer-songwriter/producer Brian Lenington, a.k.a. EMOTIONA, embraced moments of isolation in 2020 and began to tell his story on YouTube. Dubbed "The EMOTIONA Project," the videos were a deep dive into his creative process and Melodic Bass signature.
The next year brought a fiery collaboration with heavy-bass powerhouse SWARM with their song "Synchronize" (over 500,000 streams) - which has been showcased at festivals such as Lost Lands and Bass Canyon, as well as getting a feature in the massive online shooter FORTNITE. The wave of sentimental headbangers continued in 2022, with EMOTIONA releasing "Spellbound" in collaboration with Ophelia artist Caster - as well as "Free Falling Down" with DREAMOIR on New Dawn Collective.
Recently a new chapter has opened - with EMOTIONA taking the stage across the United States, opening for larger artists such as Figure, Notaker, Au5, and Chime. His fusing together of multiple worlds in electronic music has drawn attention while developing a unique performance featuring live vocals, cello, and piano." He was also invited to play at Camp Terror Festival in 2021.
Watching the crowd during Brian's set Saturday was really inspiring. He had them fully captured and engaged, and his energy permeated the entire venue. Walking out of the photo pit at the end of his set, I heard several people talking about how blown away they were and how incredible his performance was.
EMOTIONA has some events in the pipeline, so if you would like to catch him live, follow his Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date on happenings!
